Chapter 19

RIPLEY held Olivia on the couch in the middle of the dungeon and caressed her hair. “You doing OK?”

She held up the chocolate bar and grinned. “I’m great. And it might not be reality television, but I’m enjoying watching everyone play. It’s been too long.”

“You sure I wasn’t too rough? I feel like I’ve been nothing but rough since we got back together.”

Her nose and forehead crinkled in confusion. “I like it rough, Ripley. Since when do you worry about that sort of thing?”

It was a valid question. He never worried about it before beyond making sure he hadn’t gone past her limits. Maybe it was the danger they were in, but something had him wanting to protect her more than usual. Apparently even from himself.

They’d played with no toys tonight other than their bodies, wrestling and clawing at each other on one of the giant floor mats in the corner of the dungeon. Now, the Daddy in him wanted to scoop her up and keep her safe. These two sides to him were complicated when they both wanted to play.

“I want to make sure you’re OK when we’re done with a scene like that. We had the dungeon monitors a little on edge with how rough we were playing. One of them would have stepped in, but Gage stopped them.”

Olivia gasped. “Really? I was so lost in the moment, I didn’t notice any of that. And it was rough, but it didn’t feel any rougher than usual.” She shrugged. “I’m happy. You’re happy. We play rough but safe. Don’t overthink it, Daddy.”

He nuzzled his face in her hair. “Working on it. Just let me take care of you.”

He didn’t want to sound weak, but he felt an overwhelming need to take care of her and pamper her. He wondered if he should take her out to the hot tub. After the way they were pinning each other on the mats, her muscles were sure to be sore.

“Want to go soak in the hot tub with me?”

She glanced up at him with a disgusted look on her face. “Do you know how many orgies happen in that thing?”

“Yeah, but Gage makes sure it gets cleaned every night.”

She wrinkled her nose. “No, thank you. It squicks me out. Especially if there are other naked people in there.”

He tossed his head back and laughed. “You’re ridiculous, baby girl. You were rolling around naked on a mat that other people and their bodily fluids have been on less than twenty minutes ago.”

“Yeah, but those get cleaned in between people. The hot tub only gets cleaned once at the end of the night.”

He chuckled. “OK. No hot tub.”

She ate the last of her chocolate and shifted so her head was in his lap.

“Do you think we’ll be in danger forever because of your past?”

It was a question he’d been thinking of since Vegas. “Forever? Probably not. But it could go on for a while. I would understand if you didn’t want to be with me.
